Why We Exist.
Preparedness Group was created in response to a consistent problem observed across emergency preparedness programs nationwide: the people responsible for responding to an emergency often have limited familiarity with the buildings they may be called upon to enter.
During exercise planning, law enforcement and other responders frequently identified the same concern: they did not know the interior layouts, access points, stairwells, utility locations, or other critical features of the facilities within their response areas. That knowledge gap made it harder to conduct realistic discussions, evaluate plans, and prepare personnel for the environments in which they might eventually operate.
A similar problem emerged during exercises focused on hurricanes and other destructive weather events. Facilities often lacked a current, comprehensive record of their pre-disaster conditions. When evaluating damage, planning recovery, or supporting an insurance claim, organizations could struggle to demonstrate what was present before the event, what changed, and where critical assets and systems were located.
Preparedness Group was built to close both gaps.
By combining years of emergency management and exercise design experience with digital twin technology developed over years of real estate and facility documentation work, we create more than virtual building tours. We create operational preparedness assets that help organizations:
